Staying Motivated in an Unmotivating Environment
Staying motivated in an unmotivating environment can feel impossible, but it’s not as hard as you think! These tips will help you keep on top of your game.
You Get What You Expect
Your mindset is a powerful tool. If you’re not in the right mind frame, it will – without a doubt – affect your result. Tell yourself you are going to do well and I can guarantee you, good things will happen. Likewise, if you expect the worst, you’ll get it. Motivate yourself – even if you have to fake it at first. Once you see the results flowing in, you won’t need to pretend anymore!
Take Control of What You CAN, Not What You Can’t
Don’t worry about situations that are out of your control. Things may not always work out, that’s inevitable. But, the sooner you get over and forget them, the sooner you move on to your next victory. You can only control yourself and your actions, so don’t get caught up with things that are out of your control.
Surround Yourself with Positivity
Engage with positive minded people and don’t wallow in negative conversations. Negative people and conversations only serve as distractions and take the focus away from your goals. When caught in the middle of a conversation that is steering in a negative direction, try to change the subject to something productive and motivating. A positive attitude can change your life!
Minimise Distractions
It’s easy to become unmotivated when the surrounded by distractions. Distractions can throw you from getting on with the job and can affect your performance when the focus shifts to an unrelated, non-important topic.
Celebrating and Sharing Wins
Rewards play a huge part in staying motivated. Without acknowledging your victories, it can be easy to forget why you are doing what you do and why you are there. Remember to treat yourself when you do achieve your goals. Sharing wins also reignites the passion by evaluating and looking back at what it took to reach your goal.
