Could leasing your mobile phone be the way to go?
Love having the latest phone? Then leasing with Telstra might be the way to go. By not taking ownership of the phone, you could pay up to $10 less per month compared to other handset and plan combinations. You also get to upgrade at any time after the first year, so long as you sign up to a new 24 month handset and service plan. And provided your phone is in good working order you’ll only pay $99 to upgrade.
Leasing is as easy
With Telstra, you can select from a range of best selling smartphones. You can then choose your 24-month lease plan. Then, if you return your phone after 12 months (in good working order), you can upgrade to a new phone for $99 when you take up a new 24-month handset and service plan.
Peace of mind
We know accidents happen, o if you’re on a lease plan and damage your phone, you can still upgrade after 12 months. If your phone has a cracked screen, you can upgrade for $229. If your phone can’t be fixed, you can upgrade for $499.
Even greater peace of mind
For extra assurance, add Assure for just $10 per month. Assure gives you the ability to upgrade your damaged phone at any time and in any condition for a flat fee of $190 when you sign up for a new 24-month handset and service plan.
Your old phone to a good home
Unless they’re beyond repair, all devices returned for an upgrade are refurbished and reused. So when you lease a phone from Telstra, you’ll be doing your bit for the environment by reducing your e-waste.
Buying a device outright means you are locked into that device for its entire lifetime. As mobile phone features are constantly evolving, your brand new device is likely to become old news after just one year. You also have to pay an extra insurance cost if you don’t want to lose the entire value of your phone after one accident.
